OCI Migration – How, What, With What, and Why Not

Migrating a database to OCI can’t be that hard. That's what I thought, too.
Set up the infrastructure, transfer the data from the legacy system to the Database Service, and you're done.
It's basically no different than without the cloud – a database is still a database.
But maybe it is, if the source isn't already running on x86-64.

I'll explain the different approaches using Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Backup & Recover, Transportable Tablespace, and Data Pump. What pitfalls were there, and which option did we end up choosing?
